Product Changelog
Everything we have shipped, improved, and fixed — in reverse chronological order. Follow along as FanFad evolves.
Internet Creators Category Launch
We have added a dedicated Internet Creators category tracking over 500 entities across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitch. This includes content creators, influencers, and digital-first personalities with full momentum scoring, lifecycle classification, and velocity tracking. The category joins our existing nine categories for comprehensive cultural coverage.
Comparison Tool V2
The Compare tool now supports cross-category comparisons with normalized metrics. Compare a K-Pop idol against a TV character or a streamer against an athlete with meaningful, apples-to-apples momentum analysis. We have also added three new comparison dimensions: geographic breakout overlap, platform dominance differential, and sustainability projection gap.
API v1.2 Release
API v1.2 introduces the history endpoint for accessing historical momentum data with configurable time windows (30, 90, and 365 days). We have also added batch query support — request data for up to 50 entities in a single API call. Rate limits for Premium users have been increased to 1,000 requests per minute.
Cultural Heat Map
Introducing the FanFad Heat Map — a geographic visualization of fandom momentum across regions. See where fandoms are surging with city-level granularity for the top 50 metropolitan areas worldwide. Heat Map data is available on entity profiles, in comparisons, and through the API for enterprise users.
Premium Alerts System
Premium and Brand & Studio users can now configure real-time breakout alerts. Set custom thresholds for velocity spikes, lifecycle stage transitions, and score milestones. Alerts are delivered via email, Slack webhook, or in-app notification — your choice. Each alert includes a momentum context snapshot so you can act immediately.
Fad Lifecycle Engine
Every tracked entity now has a lifecycle stage classification powered by our new Fad Lifecycle Engine. The five stages — Spark, Niche Ignition, Viral Ignition, Saturation, and Stabilize — help you understand where a fandom sits in its cultural trajectory and what comes next. Lifecycle data is available on entity pages, in comparisons, and through the API.
10 Category Expansion
FanFad has expanded from 5 to 10 categories. New additions include Anime Characters, Video Game Personalities, Reality TV Stars, Streamers, and Internet Creators. Each category features full momentum scoring, entity rankings, and category-level aggregate analytics. Over 5,000 new entities have been added to the index.
FanFad Public Launch
FanFad launched publicly with five categories: TV Characters, Movie Roles, DJs, K-Pop Idols, and Athletes. The initial release included the live Trending Index, entity profiles with FanFad Scores, basic comparison tools, and the methodology page explaining our momentum-first approach. Free and Premium tiers were available from day one.
